There are dozens of envelope types, and envelopes can be created to virtually any size. However, mailing restrictions and converting costs typically make the more common, standard sizes shown here more appealing. Almost any envelope can be created with windows. Announcements are designed for use with matching text and cover papers. The flaps are usually pointed or flat. Mostly used for announcements, invitations, cards, small booklets, brochures, or promotional pieces.

Booklets are popular for annual reports, brochures, sales literature, and manuals. Used in volume mailings because booklet envelopes can be processed by automated inserting and sealing equipment. Concealed side-seam opening allows for all-over ink coverage.

Banker’s envelopes, also known as Wallet Flaps, offer extra-strength and protection for bulky or heavy contents that standard commercial envelopes may not be strong enough to hold.
